Have you dreamt of an 8-day all expenses taken care of holiday? And all you need to do is blog? It’s possible now – thanks to the Tour of Nilgiris!
The Tour of Nilgiris 2009 team is offering to take 1 blogger on this exciting trip. Just win the TFN Official Blogger Contest and you are on! Last year Meenakshi Menon was the winner of this contest (her wonderful blog is here). Contest closes on October 25th, 2009, so hurry!
Here is how it works, in three simple steps:
Step 1: You blog about the reasons why you should be the chosen official blogger for the Tour of Nilgiris. Send us your blog URL at contest [ at ] tourofnilgiris [dot] com by October 25th, 2009.
Step 2: If your blog is the best, you get chosen to go on TFN and blog about it live. With text, pictures, video, whatever you think best!
Step 3: You work real hard on the Tour of Nilgiris but don’t have to sweat it out like the ones on saddles.
Conditions apply: You should have your own laptop and your own data card so that you can blog live.
Is there a prize?
Sure. While the real prize is getting to go on TFN 09 with a bunch of crazies and documenting them for the rest of the world, you also get a cap to keep the sun away, a tent to run your blog from, a backpack, headlight, sleeping bag and a ski cap to keep the evening winter chill at bay (see complete descriptions at the bottom of this page). The prizes are courtesy our Contest Partner Adventure Worx.

Rules
More rules, etc but nothing threatening like you normally find in fine print:
- You have to blog about TFN on your blog and submit the URL as an entry to contest [ at ] tourofnilgiris [dot] com. All entries posted on or after October 14th and on or before October 25th will be considered valid.
- Content created during TFN (write-ups/ photos/ videos) will be co-owned by TFN
- Selected content/ collateral to be provided copyright free for use by TFN and its sponsors
- All logistics, boarding lodging during TFN will be taken care by the RideACycle Foundation (RAC-F) for the winner of this contest
- Contestants will have to bring their own laptop, camera, batteries, data card etc. TFN or RAC-F will not provide them
- Contestants should be willing to start blogging about TFN starting November 1st, 2009.
- Last date for submission of entries is October 25th, 2009
- The winning blogger will be announced right here - on the tourofnilgiris.com - on October 31st, 2009. RAC-F reserves the right to declare more than one winner for this competition.
- The winner(s) of this competition will be required to blog on each of the 8 days of the tour, and encouraged to create at least one blog post a week in the run-up to the TFN from the date of the announcement of the result.
- URLs of blogs, twitter, flickr, youtube pages/channels to be provided
- Decision of RAC-F will be final and binding.
- Prior experience in travelogues, sports coverage and live coverage will weigh in your favour.
- Contestants with good photography skills will also be considered favorably.
- Contestants should be eco-conscious and should be aware of at least one of the following: clean and green tech, sports, biking, eco-tourism, and cultural heritage of places that TFN is passing through.
- The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or any other prize.
- RAC-F and TFN reserve the right to change the prizes without notice.
- Prizes may not match picture shown on this page in colour or size.
- TFN is not responsible for any delivery cost for the prize. You more or less have to come over to the address we give you and collect it.
